It's a genuinely versatile rig for lingcod and larger rockfish along Washington and Oregon's rocky coastline, small-to-average halibut in protected nearshore waters, and albacore and other pelagic species when California anglers venture offshore. We're outfitting it with the Daiwa Harrier HRJ rod in your choice of 6'4" or 7'0" — 40-60 pound braid rated, one-piece MH — paired with the Daiwa Lexa 400H-P power handle baitcasting reel, delivering the drag strength and retrieve speed needed to move fish off bottom or keep pace with a running albacore.

Rod & Reel: The 6'4" length is easier to handle for tight-quarters bottomfish jigging, while the 7'0" adds leverage and casting distance for trolling or working further from the boat. Choose left or right-hand retrieve.

Line: We recommend P-Line EndurX braid in 40 or 50 pound test for its low stretch and abrasion resistance on structure-oriented bites.
